Went to the new end of Shinagawa last night for dinner and on the edge of the station we came across a veritable army of young corporate warriors wearing the same suits and kicking back after what was no doubt a full day's "training". With it not being, as far as I'm aware, traditional "recruitment" season I was kind of taken aback by their sheer number and for a moment I thought it was some sort of weird flash mob event but it seemed not.
So we have dinner at one of the restaurants in Grand Passage, and about two hours later, we wandered back to the station to find that the suits appeared to have only moved a few hundred meters into the station and were now hanging out near the ticket machines. Himself was bemused. We could only assume that they were all waiting for a consensus to go home or worse still, they were waiting for someone to tell them to go home.
Some of them couldn't have been more than 21 years old. Bless!
