I'm afraid my posts are like buses, you don't get one for ages and then.... So after nails, D asks me to join her for drinks with some movie producer friends of hers. Sounds good I say, not really believing that they are bonafide movie producers. Turns out they are. Turns out they are Mr. Kaz and Mrs. Fran Rubel Kazui, executive producers of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Bizarre. They mentioned that Ross Katz and Sofia (as in Coppola) were coming to town this week and they were thinking of recommending Nikko as a possible destination for Ross to "decompress". Love it.
Left there somewhat breathless and overexcited to meet T and his friend over from Germany, K (or it could be C, I never got the spelling of his name) for some low key nibbles in Jiyugaoka. Low key for me because I still had the very vivid memory of last week's hangover, for T because he had a cold which turned out to be mild bronchitis (!) and for poor K (or C) because he was just off a 15 hour flight. It was cool hanging out and being able to immediately tell someone about my encounter with Buffsters!
for the record, it's "K." and, yes, "mild bronchitis" does read as oxymoronic, doesn't it...

Well, good to see that you were on the mend by Wednesday. Wish "K" a safe journey back to Munich for me.
