L, a Tokyo social institution who will soon sadly be leaving us, decided to go out with a bang this weekend by hosting a big joint birthday bash with the lovely, F. For a few hours at least, Roppongi moved to Aoyama, upstairs at Las Chicas, to celebrate in style. As the witching hour approached however, it soon moved back again to G's. At least I think it did. Not sure because I joined a splinter group intent on some karaoke - M, K, P, B, a Ben Afleck looky likey, funnily enough called "Ben", and random called M, who woke up occasionally to belt out some good ones. We tried the new five storey karaoke mecca in Shibuya - Sidex (? - more anon). It rocked and at 3,000 yen for all you could sing and drink until 5 am, it was great value. And, um, we should know - I woke the birds up this morning.
Oh, should also mention that prior to going to L's do, I went to an early evening cocktail party hosted by a gay couple I know. Tons of bronzed, chiseled godettes. None of them in the least bit interested in me, of course. As P might say, I may as well have been "chopped liver". They loved my pedicure however. A LOT!
Back to L, the cake obviously says plenty but by no means all. L is a total trooper that will be much missed by many. Happy b-day L and F.
Hi,
Call this the weirdness of the internet = who needs friendster & nth degrees of separation...
I am trying to get back in contact with a mutual acquaintance of ours after a period of six years. Is it possible that you could email me @ the above email and I will then explain in a private post?
Many thanks,
Jane
